About Swell

Swell Coffee began life in August 2006, from a shoe box sized premises in Wollongong’s CBD. With one lonely half kilo Green Bean Roaster, a 3-group ECM Michelangelo, and some hardworking grinders, it was clear early on that we needed more space.

So here we are now, tucked away down another cute alleyway in the CBD, with 3 extra roasters, an additional 2-group Michelangelo, more grinders, and plenty more fantastic Swell staff. We make use of our great friend Nick, who has added the benefits of a shiny new drum roaster, and we’re sending our Swell beans all over the Illawarra & beyond.

We love our coffee. In-house, you can get our Fairtrade blend or Organic decaf. To take home, there’s a whole bunch on offer, from the house blend through to our single origins – everything to suit your purpose.
